Kasturi Kundal Delhi Boutique Opens.

Kasturi Kundal

The Kasturi Kundal Delhi boutique marks a new chapter for the luxury textile label, and the capital’s handloom lovers have taken note. Built around India’s handloom traditions, Kasturi Kundal has opened its first boutique in Delhi, following the brand’s flagship in Raipur. The store brings its full range of handwoven textiles, Banarasi silks, organzas, linens, khaddar and kalamkari to a city the founders describe as one that “deeply values craft and culture.”

Kasturi Kundal Delhi Boutique: Celebrating Indian Handloom

The label was founded in 2019 by Reena Katiyar and Aarushi Katiyar. The idea was simple: “craft is knowledge”. Every suit or saree begins with yarn selection, then moves through handloom weaving, embroidery, and finishing, much of it done in partnership with artisan communities across the country. Even as Kasturi Kundal grew, the approach remained consistent, with old techniques staying intact but styled for a wardrobe that reads as current.

Their Delhi boutique carries the label’s full collection range. An Afternoon in Piccadilly takes Banarasi weaves and runs them through Victorian-era palettes and motifs. Monica leans into Art Deco, working bold geometry and strong colour into Tanchoi and Tissue weaves. Ketti Melam, designed for bridal wear, pairs Banarasi sarees with handcrafted veils finished with Zardozi, Aari, Dabka, and Dori work. Kasturba works with hand-spun khaddar and fine embroidery, while Kora uses organza silk for lighter, more fluid silhouettes that sit between Indian and contemporary design. Rati closes out the set as a tribute to Banaras itself, built on Kadhua, Jaal, Jangla and Tanchoi techniques.

Where Craft Meets Contemporary Design

“Every textile tells the story of the hands that created it,” said Reena Katiyar, the label’s founder. “At Kasturi Kundal, our endeavour has always been to honour that legacy with authenticity and respect while creating pieces that can be treasured for generations. Opening our first store in Delhi is a meaningful milestone, allowing us to share these stories with a city that deeply values craft and culture,” she adds.

Aarushi Katiyar, co-founder, framed the space as something beyond a store. “We have always believed that heritage and contemporary design can exist in harmony,” she said. “Our Delhi boutique has been envisioned as a place where visitors can engage with Indian textiles, discover the remarkable craftsmanship behind every collection, and experience the enduring beauty of handloom.”

Delhi marks a new address for the label, but the idea behind it remains the same: work made slowly, by hand, and rooted in the communities that have carried these techniques forward.
