Maturity, elegance and consciousness cast their spell into a room full of furniture.. Well, this may seem like an ancient design story, and although it isn’t any less than that. It is in reality the true identity of Nehal Bhatt’s surreal furniture brand, Studio Works. Nehal Bhatt, a passionate graduate from CEPT University, and a designer who reflects the true essence of materials in her work, established her brand, Studio Works, in Ahmedabad, in the year 2012.
Her design career began with her fascination in understanding how various materials mingle together in a product but never leave their birth nature. And hence the team at Studioworks, strive to build furniture for various spaces, but create it in a way that they feel ‘belonged’.
The furniture collection of Studio Works Starts with vivid kinds of seating arrangements, from chairs, to benches and swings and even sofas, and continues with multiple choices of tables like consoles, dining tables, trolleys and even lighting. Embraced with utmost care for mother earth, each product at Studio Works is defined with natural materials like reclaimed teakwood and eco-friendly finishes.
Its Feather A chair, comes from the lap of Burma Teak and a Malaysian wicker work done on its slant back, weaves it to traditional roots. The Butterfly Low Back chair has a seat fabricated of hand-woven cotton, and is shaped like an open book, while a few sleek metal rods that cross each other to mimic a butterfly’s structure.
Studio Works goes beyond conventional creations, and in order to fit the unutilized corners of our homes, established the Afloat Sofa. Afloat Sofa speaks of curves and round edges, aiming the audience to achieve a relaxed time. In contrast, its Angular Sofa, celebrates the beauty of angles and plays with different viewpoints to create a rather geometric structure using teakwood.
Swings like Hexa, mingles together a show of upholstery, woven backrest and a wooden frame as the main character. The brand’s Jigsaw table reminds of the creativity hidden behind a puzzle story, while the Meta Flower, aims to replace Diwali rangoli, with its flower motif cute table top.
The ARC Dining table is made with bending teak wood like paper, highlighting its soft edges, while its Adobe Study table hosts an innovative hanging drawer. Studio Works has a skillful hand in lighting, like its Split light, admires light peeking through peeled layers while the Edge Floor Lamp, depicts the mystical nature of rays frozen in sleek cuts.
Each product from Studio Works, can’t stop but whisper its secrets of craftsmanship and merit. From its chairs, to accessories, Studio Works has a distinct style of its own- ethereal yet tangible.
