Milan has been the world’s hub for new and upcoming furniture and design. It always welcomes avant garde thoughts and is open to experimentation. This is the reason why designers often look up to the city for a starting platform to shine. The Milan Furniture Fair or the Milan Design Week or Salone del Mobile. Milano is an exhibition that brings such designers under the same roof. Launched in 1961, the Salone del Mobile.
Milano gives an observant eye to Italian furniture. In other words, it acts as a trade show to promote Italian furnishings and accessories.
Salone History
The Salone del Mobile. Milano is held every year, and has grown since its birth. However, after 1998, the trade show was rounded off by Salone Satellite which stands as a launchpad for young designers. In 2018, after the declaration of Manifesto, the connection between the trade show and the city flourished. The current show covers an area of 230,000 sq meter, including 2,500 creative companies.
SALONE DEL MOBILE. MILAN 2023
The fair celebrates its 60th edition this year and hence it exhibits a “privilege of actuality”, to express its longevity. It includes products like seating, coffee tables, cabinets, etc. Innovative brands like &’ Costa, 3F Filippi, 9010, A LOT OF Brasil, A.A.G. Stucchi, About Space and many more.

BATTILOSSI AT SALONE DEL MOBILE. MILAN:
The Turin based rug company is all set to start their debut in the show from 18th to 22nd April, 2023. The exhibition will host their timeless collections, along with its moodboards for a clear explanation. Battilossi’s debut at the trade show, is in reality, a 30 year old brand intertwining the carpet and rug art of Nepal with western and eastern designs. Its rugs like Eclectica depict the play of vibrant hues, with a tranquil effect. In contrast, the Milton Glaser- Salsa, is bold and bright with a fresh red shade.
In addition to this, on the occasion of FuoriSalone , the brand will open its showroom in Milan, Brera district. Further to commence their opening, Battilossi will exhibit their vivid collection signed by the American Graphic Designer, Milton Glaser. Battilossi works day in and out to connect the oriental craftsmanship of Nepal and Pakistan, and has built up a palette of 1200 shades.
SALVATORI’S ICONIC TEXTURE COLLECTION:
Salvatori is an Italian design brand, excelling in natural stone. It offers gorgeous textures for walls and floors, embarking a sweet journey on innovations. For the Salone del Mobile. Milano, the brand is previewing its texture collection at its Brera showroom.
The textures are created with offcuts of waste materials and hence supports an eco-friendly aura. Other products at the trade show include rugs like Slash Limit by YO2, balancing an ocean of geometric patterns. Twins by Sebastian Herkener is a serene sofa set with a play of teak and aluminum.
