What if the universe could become architecture? Quartzforms Planet Collection explores exactly that possibility. Quartzforms, the mineral surfaces brand under Italy’s Scapin Group, has expanded its nature-inspired range with Planet, a line of twelve slabs, each named after a planet, moon or comet. It follows two earlier collections, Forest and Ocean, which translated vegetation and marine life into surface design. This time, the brand looks outward.
Quartzforms Planet Collection Looks to the Sky
The twelve surfaces read like a loose map of the solar system. Tempel, named for the German astronomer, carries a marble-like white ground broken by dark and orange veining. Interstellar Cloud keeps its veining almost invisible against a uniform white base. Neptune leans into pale blue tones crossed by a network of darker lines, while Honey Galaxy pairs grey and orange veins for a look suited to both contemporary and classical interiors.

Venus stays close to white with subtly diffused veins, and Mercury alternates thin lighter lines with faint mottling. Saturn’s fine, through-body veining sits on a warm, neutral base, while Mars takes a deeper, more solid tone with a magnetic pattern of veins running through it. Jupiter goes darker still, its elegant veining set against an almost impenetrable surface. Pluto, the most distant name on the list, brings a dense, luminous texture. Halley’s Comet is the collection’s most graphic entry: a deep black ground with a single reflective vein cutting across it. Blue Moon closes the set with cobalt blue veins on white.
What makes the collection particularly versatile is that the planetary references never become literal. There are no obvious celestial graphics or decorative motifs. Instead, Quartzforms translates the atmosphere of each name into colour, veining, depth and texture, leaving the finished surface open to interpretation once it enters an interior.
All twelve are available in polished and brushed finishes, in slabs measuring 320 x 164 cm, at a thickness of 2 or 3 cm, sizing meant to cover full kitchen islands or bathroom counters without visible joints.
That scale shows up across the collection’s application shots. A walnut and black kitchen setup pairs cabinetry in warm wood with an island in a slab that reads close to Halley’s Comet, black ground, fine white veining, a section reserved for the cooktop. A bathroom vanity elsewhere uses one of the whiter surfaces, closer to Interstellar Cloud or Blue Moon, shaped into an integrated sink with a matte black tap and drain fitting, set below a wall of trailing greenery.
The rest of the collection is styled in flat lay, each slab paired with objects meant to underline its personality, cocktail tools and citrus on a black stone close to Mars, spices and a camera on a lighter veined ground, coffee and books on the softer beige tones nearer Saturn or Mercury. Quartzforms says the range is built for cladding in both residential and contemporary commercial spaces.
