Aangan Architects – Inside The Spaciousness of The Breathing House

A balance of sensibility and responsive design are the core bricks in establishing any house. And if the design architect can mix it with feelings, comfort and traditions, then the house passes thetest of being worthy enough to be called home. Residential architects – Aangan Architects have always embarked upon these principles and incorporated them even in their recent project, The Breathing House.

The seeds of Aangan Architects were laid down on April 2001 by Vishal Shah and Vishal Desai. The architecture company Aangan Architects, suggests the forecourt of Indian houses, whispering of a transitional pause and an introduction to the home.

Situated in the diamond city of Gujarat, bustling with the richness of ornated mosqoues and colonial style buildings, ‘Chirantan- The Breathing House’ is built on a village street, giving it a fresh dash of urban chic. The heart of the house is a breathtaking court resting within this linear structure. The court offers the mingling of simplicity and nature, by allowing light to perforate the core.

A swing an dining area resides here only, converting it into a soothing space for family time. The house is built on the basis of stack effect that is created by sectional play of lines and forms. It doesn’t have any roof, and instead walks on the amalgamation and surroundings of walls, all of which together, permits warm air to rise and exit the windows and the roofless house. Due to this, each room has an appreciative cool temperature and supports the residents’ love for light, breeze and vegetation.

Additionally, elements like linking bridge over the court, providing mobility and spaciousness. An incredible house temple of a Ghumbaj, lies in the courtyard, and excels in a rather contemporary design than a traditional one. Speaking of the dear materials used, wood has a dominance in ceilings and furnishings, while Makrana marble rules the floor. Glass takes a place around the vistas and white walls maintain the decorum of peace.

Natural materials like sandstone also finds a cozy space, ensuring that the interiors are done with a touch of conscious design. Just like the Breathing House, Aangan Architects has done other projects like Floral Park, Kandarp House, Kaaryashala and many more, all of which wraps around their aura of creativity, yet being closer to an uncomplicated beauty.
