The world is preparing itself for the 71st edition of the Stockholm Furniture and Lighting Fair, which will be held from 7th February 2023 to 11th February 2023, in Sweden. The Fair is the world’s largest one for displaying Scandinavian Design and magnificently expressing the talent of the furniture and lighting industry. The fair will host 400 exhibitors from the same area, all coming from almost 100 countries.
The Guest of Honour of Stockholm Furniture and Lighting Fair is the avant-garde design studio, Front, which will be the first Swedish designer to receive an award. Even the furnishing accessories brand, Moroso, will enter back in the fair after 13 long years, still striking itself to be a strong competitor.
Moroso’s Pebble Rubble Installation at Stockholm Furniture
The entrance hall of the Stockholm Furniture and Lighting Fair will be ornamented with Moroso’s Pebble Rubble, a scenic installation comprising chairs, backrests, and footstools, designed by Front. Pebble Rubble was constructed with the beauty and inspiration from the subtle forests in Sweden while drawing lines from its rocks, mosses, and trees. One of the noticeable features of this is the voluminous upholstery and organic form, both of which take their shape from the austere rocks found there. The installation is more of a simulation, with its visual appeal, that will dive us into the therapeutic and placid effect of nature’s delight. Front had even developed Arda, a fabric, specially for Moroso’s collection. The fabric too catches its inspiration from the textures and patterns shining in nature, like a chromatic assortment of various minerals, and the pashmina look of moss, lichens, and snow.
Apart from the Pebble Rubble, Moroso will also showcase its Ruff Armchairs, designed by Patricia Urquiola, wherein the armrest hugs the back and firmly joins itself to the side of the chair, creating an interaction between geometric lines. The Gogan Sofa was designed under the same designer, and encouraged by the flat surfaces of the stone due to wind and water, and hence the sofa seats are smooth with an irregular sense of gravity.
A Legacy of Artisanal Innovation
Moroso’s Secret Cubic Shelves, designed by Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, in the structure of a stackable rhomboid module, will also find its way to the fair. Paving its paths in 1952, Moroso was established with a vision of artisanal touch, creative and innovative heights in the field of sofas, armchairs, and other furnishing accessories, and over seventy years down the line, Moroso has placed itself among one of the striking international brands. With its presence in the Stockholm Furniture and Lighting Fair, the world needs to get ready to feed its eyes and hearts with Moroso’s stunning creations.
