An Introduction to the Legendary Lake Como Design Festival
Just to brief you, the Lake Como Design Festival is an annual themed event. It encompasses a series of exhibitions, analyses, and studies of historical events in Como and its lake. Held in such a harmonious city in Italy, the Design Festival joins the dots between history, art, design, and inspiration.
It invites international tastes to come and mingle together with other designs. This year is the fifth edition due to its extravagant nature. Moreover, this year’s theme is ‘Naturalis Historia’, inspired by the works of Pliny the Elder. It embarks on a journey of his innovative personality, and love for nature and beauty. This natural inspiration led FENIX Arpa and other brands to reinvent the Villa to create a paradise.
When Nature Blooms and Its Unmatched Beauty
FENIX, Arpa, and other Broadview Group brands like Formica, Homapal, Getacore, Westag, Türen, and X-KIN came together for the Design Festival. They did a creative showcase of the timeless relationship between nature and human beings. It started with the ‘Returning to Villa Casa Bianca’ concept. This included refurbishing an abandoned 1920s villa near the lake. The entire spectacular art installation included adding nature at random places in the villa. This subtly indicated how in the absence of its owners, the wilderness had found its beauty.
Hence, aligning with the nature theme of the Design Festival, they included lush flora, weeds, and plants at sparse points. The installation was beautifully crafted by florist and flower stylist Letizia dei Fiori. She explained how these natural elements flourished day by day near the window, on the floors, and in the rooms. Such unexpected items embellished the home as if giving it a new sense of beauty.
Additionally, alongside the installation, brands like FELIX, Arpa, and others smartly showed off their furniture pieces. From surfaces to interior essentials, the brands gave a glimpse of their expertise as well. Moreover, the impressive installation display also indicated an eco-friendly design. It spoke of the brands’ inclination towards sustainability and inclusivity in their design process.
The installation and the nature-inspired design mingled with each other. They portray how humans and nature cross each other’s lives. Most importantly, it displays the truth that inviting nature into our homes invites an ethereal sense of aesthetics.
The Design Festival stands as an impetus for a million such thoughtful installations and exhibitions. And it asks you to give yourself a chance. A chance to walk inside your creative zone and dig out the secrets it holds.
