Surreal floral compositions echo the branching logic of hand blown glass light globes. Nature has an extraordinary way of making structure appear effortless. This same organic rhythm forms the foundation of Lighting Design in Duality a poetic collaboration between design studio Bocci and Vancouver based artist Jennifer Latour. Together they blur the boundaries between functional lighting and contemporary art.
Lighting Design Inspired by Nature
Jennifer Latour is known for creating imagined botanical forms by combining real plant elements into surreal floral species that feel both familiar and otherworldly. At the same time Bocci has perfected the 28 Stem series a branching framework that supports hand blown glass light globes. By bringing these two creative practices together the project transforms Lighting Design into an artistic language rooted in nature’s patterns.
During the creative process bright petals green stems and sculptural branches come together across the studio workbench. Using the metal armatures as a guide Latour develops fantastical floral compositions that mirror the branching forms of the lighting system. The finished works reveal an elegant conversation between glass metal and botanical forms.
Where Art and Nature Become One
The final installations feature vibrant gerberas delicate tulips and deep pink cyclamens emerging from moss toned brass joints while hand blown glass globes reflect rich ruby plum and olive hues. As every branch changes direction and every flower finds its place the collection celebrates the idea that growth connection and transformation shape both art and design. Through this collaboration Lighting Design becomes more than illumination. It becomes a living expression of nature’s evolving beauty.
