Material Palettes, aesthetics, and Lighting Design
The architects thoughtfully anchored Brava’s aesthetics in a dark-toned rustic palette, a hallmark of Italian restaurant design. Furthermore, they have natural textures like exposed brick, distressed wooden finishes, and stone accents complemented by earthy tones of rich browns, deep reds, and muted golds. This ensures that the material palette establishes a connection with traditional Italian interiors while blending perfectly with Gulmarg’s natural beauty. The restaurant’s design also features custom-crafted wooden furniture, conceptualized and created in-house by Ar. Anil Badan. Each piece showcases classic Italian curves and intricate details, evoking the charm of traditional trattorias while offering the luxury expected in a fine dining establishment.
When you take a quick peek at the lighting of Brava, you will notice that the architects have collaborated to design and sample custom ambient lighting fixtures that mimic the glow of candlelight. These fixtures are strategically placed at varying heights to cast a soft golden hue that accentuates the rustic interiors and highlights the subtle textures of the materials.
Another interesting thing about the restaurant is its layout. It is designed to provide intimate sections for private dining while maintaining an open flow throughout the restaurant. Brava has an open kitchen concept that allows diners to witness the culinary magic happening behind the scenes.
