Gervasoni has perfectly recognised what fits the world- designs which are informal, yet elegant and contemporary. The Italian brand, Gervasoni, took birth in 1882 and since then has been uplifting the human hearts with their breathtaking assortments of upholstery, furniture, both for indoor and outdoor purposes.
The brand kept transforming itself, doing extensive research for a combination of industrial materials, natural materials and craft techniques, spreading itself over 80 countries. Gervansoni’s products weave with threads of traditional aspects, amalgamated with contemporary elements. They narrate stories, not just for cultures but for personalities.
Their recent showroom set in Spartaco, Italy, will showcase their 2023 outdoor and indoor novelties, coming from different designers, exciting us to their broad and creative mindset. The indoor collection by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti- Yaku, hosts a dining table and bench. The word Yaku, comes from the Japanese word meaning simplicity and refinement. Further, drawing inspiration from the island of Yakushima, which is a part of the Ōsumi Islands archipelago. Thus the furniture wraps around in ash wood at its purest form, accompanied with precise cuts and geometric highlights.
The outdoor collection has different stories to tell with blending of materials and technology. The outdoor Brise collection, by Federica Biasi, expands to the revival of table and chairs. Brise, means breeze, and hence tapping into levels of comfort and ease, the Brise chairs are set in a stainless steel frame, with a seat and backrest fabricated using WoodEvolution, a material that excels in resistance and thickness. With a Vienna Straw texture and attached to the chair with a nautical ribbon, the backrest stands as the royal element of the chair’s aesthetics. Brise Tables are versatile and available in three colors, tops like round, rectangular and square, in galvanized metal sheet or ductal concrete, all to match the consumer’s needs and nature.
Another outdoor collection, named, Kasane, which comes from the Japanese studio Nendo. The term Kasane, roots from Japanese word meaning ‘overlapping’. Just how a stack of cup is placed with balance and perfection, in that way are the poufs and the tables of this collection created. The base of the poufs and tables are designed in polymer, with MDF tops, and the entire piece is then covered with a thin layer of earthy coloured clay, to captivate us closer to the nature.
Heiko, meaning balance, stands as the last collection of exclusive coffee tables, meant for outdoor purposes. Designed by David Lopez Quincoces, the rounded top of the coffee table exuberates an airy effect. A high density polymer coated with resistant resin and finished with a low thickness clay, the tables fuse natural elements to co-exist with their geometric look. The table are offered in various sizes and colours like dark grey, brick red and mustard.
With every collection, Gervasoni had hidden secrets of beauty, craftmanship and expertise. It’s their this caliber that makes us want to revisit their products and indulge in the peace it channels.
