And this August, Seiko is ready to mark history again. Under its Prospex collection, Seiko will release the 1965 Diver’s watch recreation. That’s what we call a pioneer!

The original 62MAS was a masterpiece in itself. Hence, that beauty needed to be captured in the revised edition. Seiko gave an aesthetic similarity to the updated edition and upgraded its functions. Also, the dolphin at the back of the watch is the same as the original one. Interestingly, the diver’s watch is also packed in a box with a nostalgic and retro touch.

The 12 markers, hands, the marker by the date window, and the pip on the unidirectional bezel, are filled with Lumibrite. It is a luminous paint that absorbs light and emits it in dark conditions. On the other hand, this diver’s watch is powered by the Caliber 6L37. This is the first movement from the slimline 6L family. This also allows the watch to have a thinner and sleeker case.
