If you were to build a Luxury Residence, the most common thing to dive into is maximalist, sumptuous elements. But that’s not what the Sylvan Home, Pune residents chose. Instead, they jumped for the simplicity and sophistication of nature, all thanks to their interior designer, Aashni Kumar.
The word “Sylvan” is related to wood, indicating the home’s inside-out wooden beauty. “Each space of the home peers into views of tree canopies, enabling the site’s character to permeate the home’s experience. Personally, this to me is luxury redefined,” explains Aashni. Her studio is known for its craftsmanship and balancing the gap between minimalism and maximalism. And she has granted a similar fascination to this house. Moreover, the owners of the Luxury Residence are former clients of the studio. Hence, designing for them was like taking inspiration from the past and looking forward to the future. The cozy sanctuary calls us with its raw and natural charm.
The Allure Of The Luxury Residence
When you walk into the Luxury Residence, you will be primarily welcomed by a dark and classic foyer. It’s nothing less than a warm hug, requesting you to stay a little longer. It’s adorned with the curved silhouettes of its columns and beams. And the entire space is ornamented to offer a serene ambiance. Therefore, veneer-clad walls, Kota floors, terrazzo wall lights, and the sensation of a textured ceiling will steal your attention. Thereafter, the living space eagerly awaits your special presence. The evenly-lit area highlights the power of natural textures with veined grey marble and its brown undertones.
Pacing up ahead, the dining area portrays itself as a masterpiece. So, initially, the double-height volume of this space seemed a little awkward to fit in. But, Aashni Kumar sprinkled her expertise. To support the essence of the Luxury Residence, the lofty ceiling was crafted with deep, umber paneling. The wooden windows were replaced with wooden frames, capturing the lushness of tree canopies. A warm powdery blue hue, monochrome rug, and sofa cum bed ask guests to sit down and have endless talks.
The elegant dining furniture like the Jeanneret replica chairs, bench, and credenza carry the textural magic of wood. The classic interior design of the Sylvan Home is enhanced by the love connection between the dining area and the terrace. Easily accessible through glass doors, the terrace stands close to the space. It offers the guests a chance to relax and enjoy their delicacies in Pune’s weather. The terrace itself has a fluted texture in natural gritty stone, offering a chic style of its own. A conversational sofa, talkative woven jute armchairs, and an in-situ coffee table relax the mood.
The Encanto-like Abodes
Wait, wait, the Luxury Residence has added its supremacy to every, I repeat, every element of the house. So, it’s time to acknowledge the masterpiece without forgetting the staircase to heaven. The stairway is sculpted with a curvy structure and fluted walls, punctuated with glass blocks, creating an entrance to the paradise-like rooms.
Your steps will automatically lead you to the master suite, a haven of muted tones and panels. Its herringbone floors and statement brass walls are an ode to the old-world charm of the Luxury Residence. The second bedroom too is carved with a similar look, showcasing indelible artwork made with the construction site’s surplus wood, brass, and marble.
The rooms shine with bright sunlight, radiating the golden specks of sustainable living. The entire home whispers of a tranquil space, a getaway from the day’s hectic hustle. The Luxury Residence speaks of luxury, not through golden pieces. Rather, it considers nature as its asset and invites it through every door, window, and art wherever possible. And as you leave, you would be pleased to quote Taylor Swift’s lovely song, “I was enchanted to meet you”.
