The Chennai-based design studio has gently wrapped the Holiday House in organic architecture. Most importantly, the captivating home is crafted such that it enhances the beauty of its splendid surroundings.
Triple O Studio has meticulously passed down its brand values to every corner of the house. Started by Tahaer Zoyab and Anupriya Subbian, the multi-disciplinary brand encompasses design, architecture, and incredible products. Triple O Studio is renowned for creating environment-conscious spaces and bringing us back to our long-lost roots. It offers other verticals like Triple O Studio Pixel for architecture and interior photography. While the Madras Inherited carries out extensive heritage research and awareness. Moreover, the timeless brand has won many awards including the Indian Architect and Builder Young Architects Award 2014. Turning towards this project, the brand has gifted Monterose with a new, whimsical face. They craved its ethereal features to suit the expansive greens behind.
Stunning Nature Inclusive Exteriors
The natural scenery of the slope gives contemporary architectural beauty to the Holiday House. It creates an eternal connection and dialogue with the striking valley views of Sirumalai. Triple O Studio started with the foremost element of the home- its stone-clad foundation. They transformed the existing form into a magnificent launchpad for its cantilevered structure. This highlighted its grandeur and camouflaged it with the serene nature behind it.
Furthermore, the Holiday House is encircled with enormous glass walls and windows, allowing the greenery to peek inside. To embark on their journey of sustainability, the brand included 70-80-year-old trees from the site’s plantation within the project. This created a personal paradise to lounge in and a preservation of the dear Earth. Its captivating terrace area welcomes you for a tranquil evening tea. While the sleek deck area invites in the cool breeze and a sunny noon. Furthermore, the outdoor furniture comes from the iconic brand, Looms Crafts. These classic pieces sprinkle the space with their magical and unforgettable essence.
The Contemporary Interiors of the Holiday House
Monterosa is a blend of natural materials and modern architecture. And sitting right in nature’s lap, it respects its purposeful treasures. They tactfully incorporated wood and natural materials in interior design. Hence, the house’s interior is embellished with Kerala’s red laterite. This is further paired with coffee wood railings from Sirumalai and a grass roof from Thekkady. For an artistic touch, the Life of Tree mural from Jordan adorns the home’s walls. While the hay/grass from the site’s grass creates an aesthetic wall finish.
Additionally, locally sourced stone material adds an extra layer of authenticity and a raw look. This natural home decor highlights the brand’s detailed attention to sustainability. The Holiday House is more than just a sanctuary among the greens. It’s rather an open paradise, which invites modernity yet roots itself deep in ancient values.
