Iconic interior designer Michelle Nussbaumer’s recent work on the Californian Vacation Home is more than just a design. The AD100 designer is profoundly known for her maximalist approach. Her combination of stylish interior accessories and traditional colors adds glaze to the space.
Michelle Nussbaumer has been working with the family for almost two decades. And now as they shift from a traditional living to a luxurious Vacation Home, they couldn’t find a better person than her. The home’s new beauty is also a creation of the family’s daughter, who has actively helped the designer to form a more individualistic space.
The Italian interior designer, Michelle Nussbaumer spotlighted the scenic views of Laguna Beach from the cliff-hugging Vacation Home. She crafted the space to truly go beyond the known idea of grandeur.
The entire house is either filled with extremely quirky pieces or opulent upholstery, and nothing in between. Swinging between these two extremes, the designer has kept in mind the family’s love of sports. Hence the furniture chosen is boxy and touches an active, contemporary style.
For instance, the primary bedroom is highlighted by Up Chairs by Gaetano Pesce. While the impressive sofa in the living room is an heirloom from the family’s grandmother. Furthermore, ottomans by Kanye West and furniture from JF Chen add a sense of nobility to the Vacation Home.
Interestingly, Michelle included self-designed custom furniture. This included Uno chairs for the kitchen, a Tekelote wall console, and an Otel ottoman.
The Inclusion of Art and Patterns:
Aligned with the family’s huge interest in art, Michelle adorned the place with 19th-century art. To create luxury home decor, she collected works from Art Basel Miami, Dallas Art Fair, and many such. The ceiling of the daughter’s room is painted with 17 coats of lacquer to make her feel like a mermaid. The nearby ocean views just match the design perfectly.
As for another room, the space is wrapped in a dip of vibrant patterns. Moreover, the royal colors of the living room with a wall installation by Argentinian sculptor, Carolina Sardi formulate into aesthetic home decor.
The Epic Dining Area of the Vacation Home:
The marble wall of the dining room feels like a Rorschach inkblot card. The ceiling features a mural by Bettinger Studio, with daggers of fishing nets and charcoal line. The Opuzen mohair chair for a high-end interior design is dipped in tones of the ocean. The location of the dining area is such that the soft lapping sounds of water touch the senses while having meals.
Moreover, the all-glass bar has exquisite barstools covered in black Sandra Jordan alpaca fabric. This of course hugs the essence of modern home decor and gives a royal effect to the bar. Michelle Nussbaumer enhanced the family’s era of a luxury fun Vacation Home. The sleek architecture of the home spins the family’s traditions and values in one place.
