Glass Architecture transforms that idea completely. Studio Ardete led by Chandigarh-based architects Badrinath Kaleru and Prerna Kaleru uses heavy structural glass to dissolve the boundaries between indoor living and the natural environment. They move beyond standard layouts allowing changing daylight to shape the mood and character of every room.
Glass Architecture That Brings Nature Indoors
Their philosophy is simple. A home should offer more than four walls and a ceiling. In the primary family lounge a massive sheet of seamless glazing replaces a solid wall pulling the soaring exterior brick facade into the living space. The sky becomes the ceiling while a rich turquoise sofa anchors the room below. This design approach creates interiors that feel far larger than their actual footprint and blurs the line between inside and outside.
Daylight becomes an active design element rather than a practical necessity. Huge double height openings and overhead skylights guide natural light deep into the home creating dramatic patterns of light and shadow throughout the day. A frosted sliding glass screen introduces another layer of control by maintaining privacy while allowing a soft glow to filter through. This thoughtful use of Glass Architecture ensures every corner remains bright without compromising comfort.
Material Contrast Creates Warmth
To balance expansive glazing the studio introduces rich material contrasts. Rough exposed brick sits beside smooth glass surfaces creating warmth and texture throughout the interiors. A central dining area enclosed by dark masonry beneath an open skylight captures changing sunlight which casts striking shadows across the wooden dining table and upholstered chairs adding depth and character to the space.
As daylight shifts the home changes with it moving from bright mornings to warm golden evenings. In a secondary seating area a curved cream sofa faces a towering glass wall framing a lush green hedge that replaces conventional artwork with a living landscape. Reflections dance across polished floors as family members move through the home making every space feel dynamic and alive.
