The much-anticipated India Art Fair 2025 officially opened its doors at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds, New Delhi on 6th February. This 16th edition is the most ambitious and expansive edition yet with a record-breaking 120 exhibitors, including 78 galleries and 26 new participants. With an exciting mix of modernists, emerging artists, and international icons, the fair cements its reputation as the leading platform for South Asia’s modern and contemporary art.
Stellar Line-up of India Art Fair
India Art Fair 2025 boasts a spectacular showcase of Indian and international artists with works spanning traditional arts, contemporary masterpieces, and innovative designs. Some of the most significant names featured include Huma Bhabha, Oscar Murillo, and David Zwiner who are set to unveil their new works. The fair also has Anish Kapoor and Ai Weiwei returning to the fair with Galleria Continua and Lisson Gallery.
In addition to contemporary and modern artists, the fair also places a strong emphasis on the rich artistic heritage of South Asia, with special exhibits by seven exhibitors-Delhi Crafts Council (New Delhi), Gondwana Art Project (New Delhi), BOITO (Bengaluru)supported by Devi Art Foundation (New Delhi), Bridge Bharat (Gurugram), Inherited Arts Forum (New Delhi), Ojas Art (New Delhi), and Gallery Ragini (New Delhi).
Talks, Installations & City-Wide Activations
Beyond the gallery exhibitions, India Art Fair 2025 offers a dynamic programme of talks, workshops, and performances. The Growing Focus, the fair’s talks Programme, supported by JSW, brings together distinguished speakers such as Naomi Beckwith, Tasneem Zakaria Mehta, Claire Fontaine, Azu Nwagbogu, Manuel Rabaté, Chris Saines, Yina Jiménez Suriel, Tarini Malik, Meneesha Kellay, Ferran Barenblit, Ute Meta Bauer and more
The fair also showcases ambitious outdoor projects like a groundbreaking site-specific LED installation inspired by conceptual artist duo, Claire Fontaine and Asim Waqif’s acclaimed series Foreigners Everywhere. Additionally, city-wide activations during the fair week include a landmark retrospective of Gulammohammed Sheikh at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and a solo exhibition by Shilpa Gupta at Bikaner House.
